Franklin returns to Smith-Cotton to lead Tiger football program

SEDALIA, Mo. The Sedalia School District #200 approved the hiring of Michael Franklin as the next head football coach at Smith-Cotton High School on Monday.

Franklin is no stranger to Sedalia, having graduated from Smith-Cotton in 2005. He previously worked in the district from 2013 to 2022, serving as head boys basketball coach and as the Tigers’ football offensive coordinator.

Most recently, Franklin led the Knob Noster Panthers football program, compiling a 26–15 record during his tenure. Knob Noster finished 8–2 last season and earned a share of the MRVC East title.
