Iowa Advances with Help from three KMZU Dream Team members
CARROLLTON, Mo. — The Iowa Hawkeyes are headed to the Elite Eight after a 77–71 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday — and three KMZU Dream Team members have been part of the ride.
Plattsburg native Isaia Howard, the KMZU Dream Team Class 2 Boys Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, has appeared in 36 games for Iowa this season. He is averaging 5 points per game and has recorded 37 steals.
Wellington-Napoleon alum Trey Shannon, a two-time Class 2 KMZU Dream Team Boys Player of the Year (2018 & 2019), is serving as a graduate student manager on Iowa’s support staff.
Jaran Richman, a 2017 KMZU Dream Team selection from Penney High School in Hamilton, is the Director of Scouting for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa will look to extend its postseason run on Saturday when it faces the Illinois Fighting Illini in Houston. Tipoff is set for 5:09 p.m.
